Fundraising Challenge for Career Forum

Posted by: Aspire Johnson County  | August 24, 2018

Aspire Johnson County is asking members and the community to support a popular middle school career forum, with up to $1,000 matched by the Johnson County Community Foundation.

The Endress+Hauser Career+Education Forum is scheduled for Sept. 20 at the Greenwood manufacturing company. More than 900 students from nine local school districts attended last year's career fair.

The focus is on middle school to high school freshmen and introduces them to STEM careers that can be found in Johnson County. Parents can find out potential salaries for these positions and the education required. Students last year saw robotics demonstrations from several school robotics clubs, participated in a scavenger hunt, toured the processing plant and competed for fun prizes.

Aspire has been challenged to raise up to $1,000 which will then be matched equally by an anonymous donor.
